Ways to Watch AFCON 2023 Matches Easily

Many football lovers in Africa were disappointed when Multichoice DStv and GOtv failed to secure the rights to air AFCON 2023. It came as a shock to customers when Multichoice confirmed that DSTV would not cover the tournament as they had done in previous editions. The announcement was made just ten days before the tournament was scheduled to start in Ivory Coast.

However, there are still options available for streaming AFCON 2023:

  1. StarTimes: Subscribers in Nigeria can enjoy comprehensive coverage of all 52 matches of AFCON 2023 through StarTimes.

  2. Free-to-Air Channels: Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and other free-to-air channels will broadcast the games, ensuring broader access for viewers who don't have satellite TV services.

  3. New World TV: Thanks to a deal with New World TV, viewers in Nigeria may have the opportunity to watch the games as this Togolese satellite TV group holds the broadcast rights for CAF competitions from 2023 to 2025.

  4. ViaPlay: Viaplay, a Swedish video streaming service, has secured the rights to broadcast AFCON 2023 and will live stream every match of the tournament. Viaplay will be available in over 85 countries, excluding the Middle East, North Africa region, and sub-Saharan Africa.

  5. Ziggo Sport: Nigerian football fans living abroad can tune in to Ziggo Sport, a Dutch pay-TV network, to watch all the matches of AFCON 2023. Ziggo Sport has obtained exclusive rights to broadcast the live action of the tournament in Ivory Coast as well as AFCON 2025 in Morocco.

These options provide alternative avenues for fans to enjoy the excitement and beauty of the AFCON 2023 matches, despite the disappointment caused by Multichoice's decision.
