In April, the company announced that it will add Group Video call, and now, it has been added which may like make the experience feel like Zoom or Google Meet.
With Telegram Group video call, users can now convert group voice calls into group video calls by tapping the camera icon on the call screen. Voice calls can still host “unlimited” participants, but only 30 users in a group can participate with video.
Group admins can also pin a user’s video feed, effectively making it the first screen new users see when joining the video chat. In addition to just sharing your camera feed, you can also share your screen with others on the video call.
On smartphones and tablets, by default your entire display is shared. On desktop, users have a choice of sharing the entire screen or a particular window.
Aside from the video call features, Telegram is also adding several changes to the UI. There is now support for animated backgrounds, which is a first for a messaging app.
The new update is available across Telegram’s mobile, desktop, and tablet apps and interfaces. Download Telegram for Android from Google Playstore.
